Did we just say curling... in Beaumont?!?!
Yeah we did! It's time to get back on the ice, throwing rocks at houses and yelling at friends!

You will confirm your personal info is correct (including your emergency contact). Then you will select your league, fill in the team info, accept the General Liability Waiver and Covid-19 Declaration.
What's different this year?
- Club Credits: Credits from last season have been applied to all member's account who indicated their decision of taking the credit option. You will see that this amount is automatically taken off when registering.
- Curling Alberta $13 Membership Fee: Curling Alberta has instituted a new fee structure consisting of a $13 per curler fee. Previously, the cost was a per sheet model based on the population of a club's geographical area - the amount being within the league fees. This NEW $13 per curler fee is now added ontop of league fees as an individual line item. Please click the drop-down below for more info.
Remember: If you are a 5-person team (or 6), please have all teammates register BUT NOT PAY. One (1) teammate must email us to let us know of this so we can adjust the amount everyone owes. Once the adjustment is completed, we will notify you to log back in and pay via the "Registration Summary" on the right-hand-side of your screen (when logged in). If you would like to make this easier on us, you can have all 5 members register, but only 4 pay the regular amount - make sure you discuss this amongst all of your teammates.
Covid-19 Info
In order to begin curling this season, we will be implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program.
Beaumont Curling Club REP Plan - CLICK HERE
Here's the basic info you must be aware of:
- Everyone must show proof of full vaccination, a negative, privately paid Covid-19 test within the last 72 hours, or a medical exemption to be able to enter and utlise the facility (participating in leagues, events, programs, or spectating).
- Those who are fully vaccinated or medically exempt will receive a Membership Card for the season.
- The Board of Directors passed a motion stating that the Restrictions Exemption Program will remain in place for the entire 2021/22 season, regardless of the Provincial State of Emergency and temporary restrictions being lifted or the end of the Restrictions Exemption Program. This means everyone must still be fully vaccinated, have a negative Covid-19 test, or be medically exempt to enter and utlise the facility.
- The Board of Directors passed a motion stating that the Restrictions Exemption Program will be applied to everyone 12 and over, meaning that youth ages 12-17 must be fully vaccinated, have a negative Covid-19 test, or be medically exempt to enter and utlise the facility.
- ➔ Those who no longer wish to curl this season, please send me an email by Monday October 4, 2021 at 4pm to request a full refund.
- As of September 27th, masking in indoor spaces is mandatory as per the Government of Alberta. When in the lobby or lounge, you must be wearing a mask. You do NOT need to wear a mask when on the ice as that involves physical activity, and when eating or drinking seated in the lounge.
- There are NO rules from last season for curling (eg. the single sweeper rule). We still encourage you to physical distance on the ice, and try not to crowd on the backboards or in the house.
Curling Alberta $13 Membership Fee
New for this season and from this time forward, curlers will be charged an annual $13 membership fee on top of their league fees. This is received by the club which is then remitted to Curling Alberta.
Why?
- Previously, Curling Alberta charged the club a per sheet fee where the amount varied based on the geographical location of the club. This amount was essentially built into your fees, along with other percentages of your league fees going to club operations, and league prizing. Curling Alberta decided to change their fee structure to be more inline with other sport organizations (like Curl BC and Curl Ontario) which has benefits including accident insurance (see below).
What?
- $10 of the fee goes to Curling Alberta.
- $2 of the fee goes to Curling Canada.
- $1 of the fee goes towards Personal Accident Insurance.
- Accident insurance coverage through Curling Alberta is intended for individual curlers who experience an injury or accident as a result of participating in curling. Key features include up to $15,000 for accident reimbursement expenses, $5,000 for dental costs and $3,000 for fracture indemnity.
How?
- When you register, you will be required to answer a question asking you if you have previously paid the $13 fee at another club. If you have, select "YES;" if you haven't yet paid it, select "NO." By selecting "NO," the $13 fee will be added ontop to your total amount owed. You only need to pay the $13 once every season, no matter how many clubs you curl at. In November, we will then remit all of the $13 from every member to Curling Alberta.
- Data will be provided to Curling Alberta on who has paid the fee. They will run the data through software to look for curlers who say they paid but in fact did not, in addition to looking for curlers who may have paid the fee twice accidentaly.
Data Collection
- Curling Alberta will also be collecting membership data from us. This helps them to determine how many curlers are in the province, and what kinds of programs they should create and may be of interest to curlers in Alberta.
- From their website: The information will be collected in compliance with all applicable legislation and personal information will not be sold to third parties.
- A consent statement for data collection is included in our liability waiver upon registration.
- We will collect the following information and remit it to Curling Alberta
- First and last name // Email // Gender (male, female, or unspecified) // Birth Year
- Community // Postal Code
- Primary Role (Club League Curler, Rental League Curler, Introductory/Drop-in Curler, Leader)
- Secondary Role (Able-Bodied, Stick Curler, Wheelchair Curler, Blind Curler, Deaf Curler)
Refund Policy
This is the first official version of our refund policy for league fees. It will be in effect until Version 2 is released. Reviews on the current version will be made on an annual basis.
